
Middle East
(I) Iraq
Two attacks kill 7 people. On April 7, a farm in Khor Al Zubair, Basra Governorate, southern Iraq, was hit by a rocket attack, killing 5 people and destroying several houses. On the same day, a residential building in Erbil Governorate, Iraqi Kurdistan Region, was attacked by a drone, killing 2 people. A drone originating from Iran struck a house in Dalahuk area of Erbil Governorate, killing a couple. Iraq strongly condemned the attack, stating that it violated international law.
US diplomats “ambushed”. On April 9, the US Department of State issued a statement saying that US diplomats were “ambushed” by Iraqi militia groups in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, on April 8. The statement did not disclose details of the ambush or casualties.
(II) Iran
Military clashes with US and Israel continue; provisional ceasefire signed. Armed conflicts between Iran and the United States and Israel persisted from April 6 to 7. The US and Israel continued strikes against Iranian military and civilian facilities. On April 9, the US Department of Defense stated that as of April 8, the US and Israel had struck more than 13,000 targets inside Iran, including air defense systems, command and control infrastructure, nuclear facilities, missile systems and defense industry bases. They destroyed 800 one-way attack drone storage facilities, 450 ballistic missile storage facilities, 155 vessels, 80% of air defense systems and 90% of weapons factories. On April 6, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced an airstrike against Iran’s largest petrochemical complex in Asaluyeh, southern Iran.
On the Iranian side, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on April 9 that it had completed the 100th wave of offensives in the Honest Promise 4 operation, striking all US military facilities in the Middle East and thousands of targets inside Israel. On April 8, Iran, the United States and Israel simultaneously announced a two-week provisional ceasefire and agreed to hold negotiations in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. The negotiations officially began on April 11 but yielded no results due to severe differences between the parties.
Casualties: According to the World Health Organization (WHO) on April 9, since February 28, US-Israeli military strikes against Iran have killed nearly 2,400 people, injured more than 32,000 and displaced 3.2 million people in Iran. Thirteen US military personnel have been killed and 381 injured. Israel has recorded 24 deaths and more than 7,000 injuries.
Security alert reissued by the Chinese Embassy in Iran. On April 11, the Chinese Embassy in Iran announced that although the US and Iran had reached a ceasefire and started negotiations, the regional situation remained highly uncertain and the security situation remained severe and complex. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in Iran reminded Chinese citizens not to travel to Iran until further notice. Chinese citizens already in Iran were urged to strictly abide by relevant security alerts, reduce unnecessary outings and avoid sensitive areas. In case of emergency, contact local police and seek assistance from Chinese diplomatic and consular missions in Iran.
(III) Palestine and Israel
Israeli strikes kill 72,321 people in the Gaza Strip. Israel continued attacks across the Gaza Strip from April 6 to 11, causing heavy casualties. On April 8, a vehicle carrying Al Jazeera journalists was attacked by an Israeli drone in northern Gaza, killing 4 people and destroying the vehicle. On April 11, an Israeli airstrike hit the Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, killing 6 people and injuring many others.
According to data released by the Gaza Health Ministry on April 11, Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip have killed 749 people and injured 2,082 others since the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025. Since the outbreak of the new large-scale Palestinian-Israeli conflict on October 7, 2023, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed 72,321 people and injured 172,158 others.

Israeli naval base targeted by missile attack. On April 10, Lebanese Hezbollah announced that it had launched missiles at the Israeli Ashdod Naval Base and other locations in response to large-scale Israeli attacks on Beirut in violation of the ceasefire agreement.
(IV) Lebanon
Israeli attacks kill over 2,000 people. Israel launched large-scale attacks across Lebanon from April 6 to 10, causing massive casualties. On April 8, large-scale Israeli strikes targeted more than 100 Hezbollah sites in Beirut, the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon and southern Lebanon, killing at least 357 people and injuring 1,223. On April 10, an Israeli airstrike hit the Nabatiyeh Municipality Building in southern Lebanon, killing 13 security personnel. On April 12, IDF tanks twice rammed Italian vehicles belonging to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in southern Lebanon, with no casualties.
On April 12, the Lebanese Ministry of Health stated that Israeli attacks since the resumption of hostilities on March 2 had killed 2,055 people, injured 6,588 and displaced more than 1.2 million people in Lebanon.

US Embassy in Beirut attacked. On April 8, the US Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon, was attacked by armed individuals with no casualties. Unknown gunmen opened fire at the embassy compound in a vehicle before fleeing the scene.
(V) Türkiye
Shooting in Istanbul kills 3 and injures 2. On April 7, a shooting incident occurred near the Israeli Consulate General in Istanbul, Türkiye, killing 2 people including the attacker, injuring 2 police officers, and leaving one assailant shot dead. It remains unclear whether the consulate was the target.

(VI) Saudi Arabia
Energy facilities attacked across the country, killing 1 and injuring 7. Multiple energy facilities in Saudi Arabia were attacked from April 6 to 7, killing one Saudi national and injuring 7 others.
(VII) Libya
Tribal clashes in Nuqat al Khams kill 2 and injure 1. On April 7, tribal clashes broke out in Ajaylat, Nuqat al Khams Governorate, Libya, killing 2 people and injuring 1.
(VIII) Kuwait
National Guard facility attacked, injuring several. On April 9, a facility belonging to the Kuwait National Guard was attacked, injuring several people. On April 10, the Kuwaiti Ministry of National Defense announced that it had intercepted 7 drones entering Kuwaiti airspace. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
Asia-Pacific
(I) Afghanistan
Armed attack in Herat kills 7 and injures 13. On April 10, a village in Injil District, Herat Province, northwestern Afghanistan, was attacked by armed assailants, killing at least 7 people and injuring 13. Gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on civilians having a picnic, causing multiple casualties. No group or individual has claimed responsibility.
(II) Pakistan
Border post attacked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On April 6, a border post in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Pakistan, was attacked by Afghan Taliban militants. Subsequent exchanges of fire left several militants dead or injured.
Bomb attack on police vehicle in Shahbaz Garh injures 5. On April 7, a patrol vehicle of the Shahbaz Garh Police Station was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED), injuring at least 5 police officers and damaging the vehicle. The attack occurred on the Bannu-Dera Ismail Khan road near Shahbaz Garh. Pakistani Taliban militants planted an IED on a motorcycle parked by the roadside, which detonated as the police vehicle passed.
(III) Bangladesh
Violent clashes in Fatulla injure 10. On April 9, violent clashes erupted in Fatulla, near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, injuring 10 people. Two rival factions clashed over control of a garment factory, resulting in multiple injuries.
(IV) Japan
Rally in Tokyo protests long-range missile deployment. On the evening of April 8, large numbers of Japanese citizens held a rally in front of the National Diet Building in Tokyo to protest moves by the Sanae Takaichi government that undermine the pacifist constitution, including deploying long-range missiles and attempting to lift the ban on lethal weapons exports. Organized by civic groups opposing constitutional revision, the rally drew around 30,000 participants. Protesters held signs reading “Defend Article 9 of the Constitution” and “No War”, calling for the preservation of the pacifist constitution.

(V) Laos
Shooting in Salavan kills one Chinese citizen. On April 8, a shooting incident occurred in Salavan Province, Laos, killing 3 people including one Chinese citizen. Police are investigating the case.
Africa
(I) Nigeria
Multiple attacks kill 73 and abduct 22. According to a monitoring report by HW International’s West Africa Security Officer:
On the night of April 5, suspected Fulani armed herders attacked Pwomol Village, Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State, killing at least 2 and injuring dozens.
On the same day, suspected Fulani armed herders attacked Mbatsada Village, Gwer East LGA, Benue State, killing at least 9 and abducting several.
On the same day, gunmen attacked Debe Village, Shanga LGA, Kebbi State, killing 24.
On the same day, armed bandits attacked Sayaya and Tangani Communities, Matazu LGA, Katsina State, killing at least 3.
On the same day, suspected armed bandits attacked two churches in Kachia LGA, Kaduna State, killing at least 7 and abducting several.
On the night of April 6, gunmen attacked multiple communities in Shiroro LGA, Niger State, killing at least 5 and abducting several.
On April 7, armed bandits simultaneously attacked three communities in Sabon Birni LGA, Sokoto State, killing 5 and abducting 22.
On April 9, unknown gunmen attacked Mbwelle Village, Kwatas District, Bokkos LGA, Plateau State, killing at least 8.
On the same day, bandits on over 50 motorcycles attacked Yarkatsinan Laka Community, Bungudu LGA, Zamfara State, killing 2 police officers and 3 civilians (total 5 dead) and injuring 1 police officer.
On April 10, bandits attacked Nuku Village, Kaiama LGA, Kwara State, killing 5 forest guards.
(II) South Sudan
Attack on outskirts of Juba kills 14. On April 6, media reported that the Ungok cattle camp in Rejaf, on the outskirts of Juba, the capital of South Sudan, was attacked on April 5, killing 14 people including 5 children and stealing about 2,000 cattle. Police suspect the attackers were armed youth from Terakeka County, Central Equatoria State.
(III) DRC
Chinese vehicle robbed in Kolwezi. On April 7, a vehicle carrying Chinese personnel was intercepted and robbed in eastern Kolwezi, capital of Lualaba Province, DRC. Robbers fled with 70,000 US dollars in cash. The Chinese nationals were briefly held hostage before returning safely. This is the second robbery involving Chinese citizens in the region within a month.
Boat capsizes on Lake Kivu, leaving 21 missing. On April 7, a mixed passenger and cargo vessel capsized on Lake Kivu in eastern DRC, leaving at least 21 people missing including many children. Cargo on board sank into the lake. Twenty-three people have been rescued, and search operations for the missing are ongoing.
(IV) Ghana
Security alert issued by the Chinese Embassy in Ghana. On April 8, the Chinese Embassy in Ghana announced two recent robberies targeting Chinese citizens by motorbike gangs, with one person injured while fighting back. The embassy reminded Chinese citizens in Ghana to enhance security awareness and precautions to ensure personal and property safety.
(V) Sudan
Armed conflict continues. Clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) persisted across Sudan from April 6 to 12. Heavy fighting occurred in North Darfur, White Nile, Blue Nile and North Kordofan states, causing heavy civilian casualties.
On April 7, artillery fire struck Al Jabalain Hospital in White Nile State, killing 10 medical staff and injuring 22 civilians. On April 8, a wedding in Kutum, North Darfur, was targeted by a drone strike, killing 56 civilians including 17 children, injuring 107, damaging 5 nearby houses and trapping many in rubble.
Europe and Americas
(I) United States
Four shootings kill 2 and injure 11. On April 6, a shooting in Snellville, Georgia, injured 1 person. On the same day, a shooting near a downtown park in Denver, Colorado, killed 1 and injured 1. On April 8, a shooting in the 510 block of north Fort Worth, Texas, injured 3; the suspect was arrested. On April 12, a shooting at a restaurant in Union, New Jersey, killed 1 and injured 6.
Stabbing at New York subway kills 1 and injures 3. On April 11, a man stabbed 3 people at a downtown New York City subway station. The attacker was later shot and killed by police.
(II) Ukraine
Russia-Ukraine conflict continues. Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine continued from April 6 to 12. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that over the past week, Russian forces used high-precision weapons and attack drones to strike Ukrainian Armed Forces operational-tactical missile control systems, supporting component production workshops, energy infrastructure, fixed-wing drone storage and assembly sites, and temporary foreign mercenary bases. More than a dozen aerial bombs, Neptune long-range guided missiles and HIMARS rockets were destroyed, and over 2,000 fixed-wing drones were shot down. The Black Sea Fleet destroyed 4 unmanned boats. Russian forces seized 7 settlements in Sumy, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia oblasts.
On April 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a provisional ceasefire during the Orthodox Easter period, from 16:00 on April 11 to 24:00 on April 12.
The Ukrainian General Staff stated that Ukrainian forces struck Russian personnel and equipment concentrations, drone control points and command posts this week. Multiple rockets were intercepted and destroyed, and over 2,000 Russian drones were shot down. Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian port of Novorossiysk and hit the frigate Admiral Grigorovich. Offensive operations made progress near Oleksandrivsk.
On April 10, Russia and Ukraine exchanged the bodies of fallen soldiers: Russia handed over 1,000 bodies, and Ukraine returned 41. On April 11, the sides exchanged 175 prisoners of war each.
(III) Russia
Attack in Kursk injures 3. On April 11, a gas station in Lgov, Kursk Oblast, was attacked by a Ukrainian drone, injuring 3 people including an infant. Governor Starovoit stated that Ukraine launched the attack during the Orthodox Easter ceasefire. Additionally, the Ukrainian General Staff announced on April 10 that Ukrainian forces had attacked two Russian drilling platforms in the northern Caspian Sea.
(IV) Mexico
Central shooting kills 1. On April 7, a shooting in South Gaviotas, central Mexico, killed one man. Police are investigating.
(V) Germany
Shooting in Rhineland-Palatinate injures 1. On April 7, a shooting occurred in Prüm, Eifel region, Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany, wounding a female police officer in the leg. The suspect is at large, and a large-scale manhunt is underway.

(VI) Haiti
Stampede in Haiti kills 30. On April 11, a stampede occurred at the historic Citadelle Laferrière in northern Haiti, killing at least 30 people and injuring dozens. Large crowds gathered for traditional celebrations. Conflicts broke out as visitors attempted to enter and exit through a single access point, leading to the stampede.
Maritime Security
(I) Strait of Hormuz
Container ship struck and set ablaze. On April 7, media reported that the Liberia-flagged container ship MSC Ishyka was struck by a drone of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the Strait of Hormuz on April 5, causing a fire. The vessel, linked to Israel, is currently anchored off Bahrain.
(II) English Channel
Migrant boat capsizes, killing 4. On April 9, a migrant boat capsized in the English Channel, killing 4 people. The vessel overturned shortly after departing from Pas-de-Calais in northern France, sending more than 30 people into the water. Most were rescued by French search and rescue teams.
(III) Iran
Container ship attacked. On April 7, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that a container ship was hit by an unknown projectile in waters near Iran, causing hull damage. The crew is safe with no environmental impact.
