Based on security risk assessments, the security levels of various regions are shown in the Global Risk Map. Regions such as Afghanistan, Syria, Myanmar, Pakistan, Nigeria, Sudan, Ukraine, Palestine, and Israel are categorized as extremely high-risk areas. During this period, security incidents like armed conflicts and terrorist attacks occurred frequently in these regions. Middle East

  • (I) Syria

  • Aleppo Armed Clashes Leave 3 Dead and 15 Injured: On December 22, armed conflicts broke out between the Syrian Interim Government forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in Aleppo, the capital of Aleppo Governorate, killing at least 3 civilians and injuring 15 others. The Ministry of National Defense of the Syrian Interim Government stated that the SDF attacked the interim government's military and civilian facilities in Aleppo using mortars and rocket launchers, causing multiple casualties.

  • Homs Mosque Explosion Kills 8 and Injures 18: On December 26, an explosion occurred at the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in Homs, Homs Governorate, central Syria, resulting in 8 deaths and 18 injuries. Preliminary investigations showed that several explosive devices had been planted inside the mosque. After the incident, a Muslim organization claimed responsibility for the attack.

  • (II) Palestine and Israel

  • Israel-Palestine Conflict Has Killed 71,000+ in Gaza Strip: On December 27, the Gaza Strip's Ministry of Health released the latest statistics. Since the first-phase ceasefire agreement took effect on October 11, 2025, Israeli air strikes have killed 414 Palestinians and injured 1,142. Since the outbreak of the new large-scale Israel-Palestine conflict, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed a total of 71,266 people and injured 171,219.

  • Attack in Beit She'an Kills 2 and Injures Many: On December 26, an attack took place in Beit She'an in northern Israel, leaving 2 dead and multiple others injured. The attacker first drove a vehicle into pedestrians in the city center and then stabbed a woman to death near a bus stop. Police said the attacker, who came from Jenin, a city in the northern West Bank of Palestine, has been detained.

  • (III) Lebanon

  • Israeli Attacks Kill 3 and Injure 1: On December 22, Sidon, a coastal city in southwestern Lebanon, was hit by Israeli air strikes, killing 3 people including 1 government soldier and destroying a car. The Israeli military claimed that these individuals were suspected of planning attacks against Israeli forces, among whom 2 were members of Hezbollah's air defense forces. On December 26, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) attacked positions south of the "Blue Line" (the temporary border between Lebanon and Israel), injuring 1 peacekeeper. In response, the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) stated that the IDF's actions constituted a serious violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and once again called on the IDF to cease provocation or attacks against peacekeepers performing their duties along the "Blue Line".

  • (IV) Turkey

  • Foiled Terrorist Attack Plot: On December 25, Turkish police foiled a terrorist attack plot in Istanbul, arresting 115 suspects affiliated with the extremist group Islamic State (IS). On the same day, police conducted large-scale raids on 124 locations in Istanbul, seizing some firearms, ammunition, and relevant documents. It is reported that the group planned to carry out terrorist attacks in multiple locations including the Turkish capital during Christmas and New Year.

  • Libyan Military Aircraft Crash in Ankara Kills 8: On December 24, a plane carrying Libyan Chief of General Staff Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad crashed in Turkey, killing all 8 people on board. Al-Haddad was returning to Libya on a Falcon 50 business jet after concluding his visit to Kansas. Thirty-two minutes after taking off from Ankara Esenboğa International Airport, the plane exploded near a village in the Haymana district of Ankara Province. At present, the black box of the crashed plane has been found, and relevant investigations are underway.

  • (V) Yemen

  • Saudi Airstrike Hits Southern Transitional Council Military Outposts: On December 26, Saudi Arabia dispatched fighter jets to launch air strikes on military outposts of the Southern Transitional Council in Hadhramaut Governorate, Yemen, killing 2 people, injuring 12, and destroying several military vehicles.

Asia-Pacific Region

(I) Tajikistan and Afghanistan

  • Border Armed Clashes Kill 5: On December 23, armed conflicts broke out on the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of 3 armed militants and 2 Tajik border guards. On the same day, 3 members of a terrorist organization crossed the border from Afghanistan into a village in the Shaheen District of Khatlon Region, Tajikistan, and launched an attack on a border guard post. Subsequent exchanges of fire killed 2 Tajik border guards and 3 attackers.

(II) Pakistan

  • Attack on Police Vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Kills 5: On December 23, an attack targeting police occurred in the Karak area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in northwestern Pakistan, killing 5 police officers. So far, no organization or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.

(III) Cambodia and Thailand

  • Border Conflicts Cause Hundreds of Casualties: From December 22 to 26, armed conflicts continued between Thailand and Cambodia in border areas. A spokesperson for Cambodia's Ministry of National Defense stated that the Thai military continued to fire on multiple targets in Cambodia using F-16 fighter jets, tanks, artillery, and machine guns. The Thai military also dropped bombs and cluster bombs on civilian areas in Battambang and Banteay Meanchey provinces, causing heavy civilian casualties. A spokesperson for the Thai Army said that in recent days, Cambodia has launched 40 rockets at border areas in Sa Kaeo Province, Thailand, causing extensive damage to local residents' houses, public infrastructure, agricultural areas, and village roads. In terms of casualties, Cambodia stated that as of the 26th, 27 people have been killed, 101 injured, and 580,000 Cambodian civilians displaced. Thailand said the attacks have killed 68 people and injured dozens. On December 27, the defense ministers of the two countries signed a joint statement announcing a comprehensive ceasefire. Thailand also promised to release 18 Cambodian prisoners of war within 72 hours.

(IV) Bangladesh

  • Bomb Attack in Dhaka Kills 1: On December 24, a bomb attack occurred in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, killing 1 person. On the same evening, an unidentified attacker threw an improvised bomb at an overpass in Dhaka and fled. At present, the attacker's identity and motives remain unclear, and relevant investigations are underway.

(V) Japan

  • Knife Attack in Mishima Injures 14: On December 26, a knife attack and liquid-throwing incident occurred at a rubber factory in Mishima, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, injuring 14 people. At present, the attacker has been detained, and relevant investigations are underway.

Africa Region

(I) Nigeria

  • Multiple Attacks Kill 19 and Kidnap 67: According to monitoring reports from Hanwei International's security officers stationed in West Africa, in the early morning of December 22, armed gangs attacked Maru Town, the capital of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara State, killing at least 4 local residents and kidnapping 10 people. On the same day, suspected armed Fulani herdsmen attacked the Ortese Community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, killing 5 local young people and kidnapping several others. On the afternoon of December 23, a suicide attack was carried out by a suspected member of the extremist group "Boko Haram" at the Gambarou Jumu’at Mosque in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, killing at least 5 people and injuring 35. On December 25, armed gangs attacked Adafka Village in Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, killing 1 person and kidnapping at least 20. On the same evening, armed gangs attacked Riji Village in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing 4 local villagers and kidnapping at least 30. On the evening of December 26, armed gangs attacked Adanla Village in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, kidnapping 7 local villagers and injuring several others.

  • Security Warning: On December 28, according to monitoring reports from Hanwei International's security officers stationed in West Africa, the forested area at the junction of Kwara, Niger, and Kogi states, known as the "Terror Triangle," is a high-risk radiation zone. The emerging terrorist organization "Mahmuda" plans to carry out retaliatory attacks after its leader was captured. Chinese-funded enterprises and personnel in the surrounding areas are advised to strengthen security precautions.

(II) South Africa

  • Two Traffic Accidents Kill 10 and Injure 72: On December 22, a bus overturned on the N1 national highway in Bloemfontein, the judicial capital of South Africa, due to extreme weather, killing at least 3 people and injuring 71. On December 27, two cars collided head-on on the N4 highway between Machadodorp and Belfast in Mpumalanga Province, eastern South Africa, killing 7 people and seriously injuring 1. Preliminary signs indicate that the accident may involve dangerous overtaking and serious speeding.

(III) Ethiopia

  • Ethnic Clashes in Gambella Kill Over 100: On December 24, ethnic clashes broke out in the Itang District of Gambella Region in western Ethiopia, killing at least 47 people and injuring more than 100. The two conflicting ethnic groups are the Anuak and Nuer peoples in the region, and the conflict was triggered by a shooting incident in Gambella earlier this month.

(IV) Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC)

  • Chinese Embassy Issues Security Alert: On December 26, the Chinese Embassy in the DRC issued a security situation notice. Given the continuous deterioration of the security situation in eastern DRC, frequent armed conflicts, and the obvious spillover of related risks, it reminded Chinese citizens not to travel to eastern provinces such as North Kivu, South Kivu, Ituri, and Haut-Uélé. Chinese citizens and institutions currently staying in these areas are advised to closely monitor changes in the security situation and evacuate as soon as possible.

(V) Sudan

  • Armed Conflicts Continue: From December 22 to 28, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces continued to exchange fire in multiple locations across Sudan. This week, fierce fighting between the two sides took place in three states (North Kordofan, South Kordofan, and West Kordofan) and North Darfur State. Both sides frequently used drones to attack kindergartens, hospitals, United Nations logistics bases, etc., resulting in the deaths of multiple peacekeepers. The armed conflict that has lasted for more than two years has killed over 30,000 people, injured tens of thousands, and displaced more than 12.85 million people in Sudan.

(VI) Chad

  • Attack on Border Military Camp Kills 2 and Injures 1: On December 26, the Tiné military camp in Chad, located 3 kilometers from the border with Sudan, was attacked by drones, killing 2 Chadian soldiers and injuring 1. After the incident, the Chadian General Staff warned the warring parties in Sudan not to violate its territory, otherwise it will defend itself in accordance with the law. In response, the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces accused each other of launching the attack.


Europe, America and Oceania Region

(I) United States

  • Four Shooting Incidents Kill 2 and Injure 7: On December 22, a shooting occurred at 339 S. Somerset Street in Norwich, Kingman County, Kansas, resulting in 1 death and 1 injury. On the same day, another shooting took place in Fort Wayne, Indiana, killing 1 person. Also on December 22, a shooting near the 1900 block of South 7th Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, injured 2 people. On December 26, a shooting incident at a downtown commercial establishment in San Jose, California, left 4 people injured.
  • Mexican Military Aircraft Crash in Texas Kills 5: On December 22, a Mexican Navy Beechcraft King Air aircraft carrying 8 people crashed near Galveston, Texas, while on a medical transport mission. The crash killed 5 people on board, left 1 missing, and 2 survived. Following the accident, Mexico activated its search and rescue plan and launched joint search and rescue operations with the U.S. Coast Guard and other agencies. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.

(II) Ukraine

  • Russia-Ukraine Armed Conflict Continues: From December 22 to 28, Russia's special military operation in Ukraine continued. The Russian Ministry of Defense recently released a battle report stating that over the past week, Russian armed forces' operational-tactical aviation, attack drones, missile troops, and artillery units launched strikes against Ukrainian airport and port infrastructure, attack drone production workshops, energy facilities supporting Ukrainian military activities, as well as temporary deployment points of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas. Dozens of armored combat vehicles, 6 Abrams tanks, multiple self-propelled artillery systems, and 1 counter-battery radar station were destroyed. Additionally, 16 guided aerial bombs, 3 U.S.-made HIMARS rockets, and 1,300 reconnaissance and attack drones were shot down. Russian forces have captured Kupiansk in Kharkiv Oblast and a settlement in Donetsk Oblast. Currently, Russia's "Western" and "Eastern" Group of Forces continue to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses.

On the Ukrainian side, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that during the week, Ukrainian troops launched strikes on multiple Russian targets including personnel assembly areas, command posts, and ammunition depots, and repelled Russian attacks in multiple directions. Ukrainian forces used Storm Shadow cruise missiles to attack the Novoshakhtinsk Oil Refinery in Russia's Rostov Oblast and the Temryuk Port in Krasnodar Krai.

(III) Russia

  • Senior Russian Military General Killed in Moscow Bombing: On December 22, Lieutenant General Vladimir Selvarov, Director of the Combat Training Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, was killed in a car bomb attack in Moscow. On the same day, as Selvarov was traveling on Yasenevaya Street in southern Moscow, an explosive device installed under the chassis of his vehicle detonated. At present, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has classified the case as murder, and relevant departments are conducting investigations.

  • Police Attack in Moscow Kills 3: On December 24, a bomb attack targeting police occurred in southern Moscow, killing 2 police officers and 1 attacker. The incident took place when 2 police officers were conducting a check on a suspicious individual, who then detonated an explosive device.

(IV) Sweden

  • Attack in Norrbotten Kills 2 and Injures 2: On December 25, an attack occurred in Boden, Norrbotten County in northern Sweden, resulting in 2 deaths (including the suspect) and 2 injuries. Police stated that the suspect was a man in his 20s with a criminal record and was shot dead by police.

(V) France

  • Knife Attack on Paris Metro Injures 3: On December 26, a knife attack took place on Line 3 of the Paris Metro, injuring 3 women. The suspect, a Malian national, was arrested at his residence. Police have initially ruled out terrorist motives for the attack.

(VI) Ecuador

  • Chinese Citizens Robbed in Quito: On December 22, an armed robbery involving Chinese citizens occurred in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, resulting in 1 foreign national injured and approximately $100,000 in cash stolen. On the same day, 2 Chinese citizens and 1 Ecuadorian citizen were robbed by 4 armed bandits at the intersection of Avenida Presa and Calle Pablo Picasso. The victims were driving away after cashing a check at a financial institution in the Condado neighborhood of Quito.

Recently, robberies and assaults targeting Chinese citizens have occurred frequently in Ecuador. In response, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Ecuador have reminded Chinese citizens in Ecuador to remain vigilant, strengthen security precautions, and ensure the safety of their persons and property.

(VII) Mexico

  • Two Accidents Kill 23 and Injure 140: On December 25, a passenger bus overturned and fell into a canyon in Zongolica, northern Veracruz State, eastern Mexico, killing 10 people and injuring 32. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation. On December 28, a train derailment occurred in southern Mexico, resulting in 13 deaths and 98 injuries.

Maritime Security

(I) Eastern Pacific

  • U.S. Military Attack Kills 1: On December 22, U.S. Southern Command announced that the U.S. Joint Task Force "Southern Spear" conducted a strike against a "vessel identified as belonging to a terrorist organization" in the Eastern Pacific, killing 1 person. No U.S. military personnel were injured in the operation.

(II) Black Sea

  • Coastal Ports Attacked Twice: From the evening of December 21 to the early morning of December 22, two berths and two ships at a Black Sea coastal port in Krasnodar Krai, southwestern Russia, were attacked by Ukrainian drones, triggering a large fire with no casualties. On December 25, two oil storage tanks at a Black Sea coastal port in Krasnodar Krai were attacked by Ukrainian drones and caught fire.

(III) Caribbean Sea

  • U.S. Seizes Oil Tanker: On December 22, the Venezuelan super-large oil tanker "Bella 1" was intercepted and seized by the U.S. military in the Caribbean Sea. This marks the third Venezuelan-linked oil tanker seized by the U.S. since former President Trump announced a full blockade of Venezuelan waters.

(IV) Senegal

  • Migrant Boat Capsizes Kills 12: On December 24, a migrant boat capsized off the coast of Mbour Department in western Senegal, resulting in 12 deaths. Currently, 35 people have been rescued, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.

(V) Indonesia

  • Ship Sinking in Makassar Strait Kills 3: On December 27, a ship carrying 11 people sank in the Makassar Strait, resulting in at least 3 deaths. It is reported that the vessel was transporting a large amount of aid supplies intended to improve villagers' living conditions. The ship capsized due to heavy rain and strong winds during the voyage.
